Step 1: Turn OFF Wireless Router
→ Turn OFF your wireless router for 1 minute and then turn ON. Now try to connect a router, if now working, then follow step 2.
Step 2: Check Router Cables
→ Remove all wireless cables for 1 minutes and attach again. If still router not responding then follow step 3.
Step 3: Wireless Router Software Problem
→ You got a software CD with your new router. Most of router automated to setup, but sometimes there are arise some problems, so here I will give you an easy solution to fix router software problems.
→ First connect your router to PC with an ethernet cable.
→ Now go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center and click Change Adapter Setting at the left pane.
→ Now find your Local Area Connection and right click on it then click Properties.
→ Now find Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) under connection items and double click on it.
→ Now select “Use the following IP address” and in IP address field add your Wireless Router IP address. You will find the IP address on your router setup guide book or documentation.
→ If the default IP address is “192.168.1.1” then type “192.168.1.2” in IP address field. In Subnet Mask type “255.255.255.0” and In “Default Gateway” type your wireless router default IP address, for example “192.168.1.1”.
→ Now open your browser and type http://192.168.1.1. in browser address bar and Enter. You need to enter a Username and Password, you will find user and pass in your Router Documention. If still router is not working, then recheck TCP/IPv4 settings, if all details are correct then follow step 4.
Step 4: Check Wi-Fi Security Settings
If your Wi-Fi settings and PC settings not same that creates problem in router connection. In Network Mode router support all versions of WiFi. For example, if your router support only “802.11g” then your wireless router not support “802.11n” or “802.11b” devices.
Step 5: Most Common Problems
→ Overheating and Overloading: If your wireless router overheating or overloading because of some problem, then your router not working properly. So if your router overheat then Turn OFF for an hour and then try to connect with your PC.
→ Signal Limitation: If your wireless router has a low signal strength, then router not provide better Internet connection and you receive low internet speed. So use high range wireless router.
