When you try to connect VPN the error says “Error 812: The connection was prevented because of a policy configured on your RAS/VPN server. Specifically, the authentication method used by the server to verify your username and password may not match the authentication method configured in your connection profile. Please contact the Administrator of the RAS server and notify them of this error.” There is problem with RRAS server that continuously start and stop. There is problem with VPN server that starting and stopping the RRAS server and you got a VPN error 812. So here I found a simple solution that works. So follow simple steps to solve VPN error 812.
How To Fix VPN Error 812
There is problem with primary DNS and RRAS server that’s not longer to point the domain controller. So the solution is changed the primary DNS to Domain Controller.
First Change Primary DNS to Domain Controller.
Now set up the Secondary DNS to External Server.
Set the Primary DNS to 22.214.171.124 (Primary Google). Apply settings and check VPN connection.
The above error 812 VPN occur because of ras server, so change the DNS to other server can solve this issue. The above solution of VPN Error 812 is working on Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows XP.
