Also I upgraded my windows 8 to windows 8.1 but when I was installing windows 8.1 using USB flash drive the error occurs. It says “You can’t install Windows on a USB flash drive from Setup. Error code: 0xc1900104”. After this error, I checked and proceed below procedure to solved this problem.

Fix: Windows 8.1 Installation Error 0xc1900104
First I checked whether windows 8 partition is active or not.
How To Check Partition Active or Not:
Go To “Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools”
Now find Computer Management and open it.
In Computer Management click on Disk Management under Storage option (you can find this on left bar in computer management).
Now Right Click on your windows 8 installed primary partition and select Mark Partition as Active.
Change Registry Value Of Used SSD Hard Drive
First open RUN (Press Windows Logo + R) and type “Regedit” to open Registry Editor.
Now follow path “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control”.
At right of Control option you will see PortableOperatingSystem, now double click on it and change value 1 to 0.
Last Option: Increase Your Reserved Partition Size To 500MB
You can easily Increase your reserved partition size by using below tools.
2. EASEUS Partition Manager
3. Paragon Partition Manager Free Edition
After completing above procedure, now restart your computer and Install Windows 8.1 again using USB Flash Drive.
