When you upgrade your windows 8 to windows 8.1, then it automatically assigns new wifi networks as the public network. So, when you try to access the network connections listed in PC settings then ‘Find Devices and Content‘ option is not seen or the option is not there. So, you can not change the profile of active network to Private or Public. Now, to solve the problem and to obtain the ‘Find Devices and Content’ option in windows 8.1 then just follow and use the trick given below.
How To Fix: No Find Devices And Content Option In Windows 8.1
First of all, open Run (Win logo + R) dialog box and type ‘regedit‘ and hit enter.
Now open following path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles.
Now open profiles by double clicking on it and then select the GUID line and the find the ProfileName on the right pane and confirm that it has your current network name.
Now open ‘Category‘ on the right pane above ProfileName by double clicking on it.
Now change value data as per your requirement such as, 1 for Private, 0 for Public and 2 for Domain.
That’s it. Now you have to sign out of your account and then have to sign in to apply the changes you made.
