As you all know that the latest windows 8/8.1 OS comes with lots of latest features and functionality. The file explorer in windows 8/8.1 comes with the Office 2013 style ribbon interface and replaces the old toolbar. The main reason for keeping it is that it becomes easy for you to access the functions quickly and easily. But some feel it difficult in case of getting desired options from different tabs. So, not all but there are many who are not satisfied with this ribbon interface. Hence lets see how to disable the ribbon interface from windows 8/8.1.
How To Remove Ribbon Interface From Windows 8/8.1
Now first all open file explorer and press F11 for a full screen mode.
Now right-click on the right top most corner and disable the “Auto hide” option.
Goto C:\Windows\System32 and find UIRibbon.dll file and right-click and then open its properties.
Select your username and then click on Advanced.
Now click on change and give the permission to change it.
Type your user name and then click on “Check Names” and press OK.
Then mark “Allow” box with the “Full control” for your account.
Then just rename UIRibbon.dll file to UIRibbon-backup.dll.
That’s it. Now just restart your system to just apply changes.
