Solution 1: Update Kodi
If there are any problems in app there is a solution. Sometimes there are bug in the app so it will fixed in next versions of the app so update the kodi app from play store or download it from https://kodi.tv/download. You can download appropriate version according to your device like ARMV7A (32BIT) or ARMV8A (64BIT).

Solution 2: Disable Hardware Acceleration
Sometimes, hardware acceleration feature can cause the serious playback issue so try disabling it.
1. Open kodi app.
2. Go to settings.
3. Now, tap on player.
4. Now, on the left bottom side tap on basic and make it to expert.
5. Now, on the right side, find allow hardware acceleration mediacodec (surface) and allow hardware acceleration mediacodec turn both off. And restart the app.
Solution 3: Reinstall Kodi
First completely uninstall kodi and download it from website https://kodi.tv/download or download it from play store and install it. Reinstalling kodi may fix lots of errors like video errors, I/O errors and other lots of errors.

Solution 5: Reinstall Kodi
If there are any problems in the app you can completely uninstall and reinstall the app. First uninstall it from the windows inbuilt uninstaller or add or remove programs. For better results try other good uninstallers.
If kodi is still not working on windows, try an older version. Check for any dll errors. Update all drivers like GPU or Video card drivers and DirectX. After updating restart pc.
