Download Windows 8 theme for Windows 7 and make Windows 7 look like Windows 8. They’re most of Windows lover update Windows 7 to Windows 8 but also there are many users they aren’t updating latest version of Windows. So here I found Windows 8 theme that makes your Windows 7 looks great as Windows 8. By using Windows 8 3rd party theme created by “mare-m” (Deviant Art) you can make Windows 7 look and feel like Windows 8. Windows 8 theme for Windows 7 is free to download. So if you like to make Windows 7 look like Windows 8 then follow below steps.
How To Install and Use Windows 8 Theme For Windows 7
First download Windows 8 Theme for Windows 7 by mare-m.
After downloading, now extract it with 7-Zip (Find 7-Zip Here).
After extracting it, now open folder. You will see 5 folders with theme option.
- Windows 8 Earth Theme
- Windows 8 Flowers Theme
- Windows 8 Theme
- Windows 8.1 Lines Theme
- Windows 8.1 Theme
Now open any one and you will see another 2 folder with taskbar option.
- Taskbar on Bottom or Left
- Taskbar on Top or Right
If you like to use Taskbar on the bottom or left, then use “Taskbar on Bottom or Left” and if you like to use taskbar on top or right then use “Taskbar on Top or Right”.
After open taskbar folder, you will see another 2 folder with user picture options.

After copy and paste all files as described in the above post, now you will need to replace old Windows 7 buttons to new Metro style buttons.
For 64-bit Windows 7:
Find “ExplorerFrame.dll” in C:\Windows\System32 folder and replace with Windows 8~8.1 Extras\Navigation Buttons\64-BIT.
Now again find “ExplorerFrame.dll” in C:\Windows\sysWOW64 folder and replace with Windows 8~8.1 Extras\Navigation Buttons\32-BIT.
For 32-bit Windows 7:
Find “ExplorerFrame.dll” in C:\Windows\System32 folder and replace with Windows 8~8.1 Extras\Navigation Buttons\32-BIT.
Now open “Windows 8~8.1 Extras\Fonts\Segoe UI” folder and install Windows 8/8.1 fonts (right click on the font and click Install).
That’s it. You can also find more customization option in “Windows 8~8.1 Extras” folder.
