How To Fix: Default Gateway Is Not Available In Windows 8.1 Wireless Problem

Step 1:

Open Search and type “Device Manager“.

Open Device Manager and find Network Adapters.

Step 3:

Now expand network adapter options and find your Wireless adapter.

Step 4:

Now right click on it and click Update Driver Software.

Step 5:

Click Search Automatically For Updated Driver Software and finish it.

Step 6:

If still your wireless not working then uninstall your wireless drivers and update with latest drivers.

      Hi Plluna,

      You need to download latest version Wireless Drivers from official laptop’s website, then Install it to your PC. So Internet Access is necessary to download drivers.

    This didn’t work for me. Plus it requires an internet connection.

    Use this tool to repair the internet connection: “Identify and repair network problems” (search for it in the windows 8 search function)

    The solution to the issue is to open the “power options” tool and select the “High performance” plan. I’m not sure which setting this changes, but it keeps the wifi always working while on battery power.
